When a webpage
can become
an experience.
Not everything belongs in a static brochure. Some ideas become clearer when visitors can explore a choice, manipulate a model or wander through a story at their own pace.
Interaction
with a purpose.
Interactive explainers
Let a visitor change an input, reveal another perspective or discover the logic behind a complicated subject. Useful for educators, research communication and thought leadership.
Story-driven microsites
Guided journeys, unusual navigation, narrative transitions and small experimental worlds. Useful when tone and personality are central to the message.
Learning & reflection tools
Lightweight exercises that invite thought and participation. They should state what they are—and never masquerade as scientifically validated assessments without evidence.
Built to be
explored.
The Identity–Action Gap
A substantial editorial experience with a conceptual interactive friction map and careful distinctions between hypotheses and evidence.
Main Character, Shared Universe
A playful yet careful reflection on agency, empathy and interpretation, with interactive choices.
Sahil Tayal Lab
An independent laboratory connecting behavioural questions, research agendas and applied experimentation.
Agency Lab
Research-informed editorial storytelling supported by a conceptual interaction and a source trail.
Novelty is easy.
Clarity is the craft.
First, the question
Why does this need to be interactive? Is it helping someone understand a trade-off, explore an idea, compare alternatives or become more curious? If interaction doesn't improve the experience, a well-written page might be the better solution.
Then, the visitor journey
We consider introductory instructions, keyboard and touch support, readable text, meaningful feedback after an action and a graceful path when motion or audio is unavailable.
Finally, appropriate technology
Many browser experiences can be built with standard HTML, CSS and JavaScript and deployed on relatively simple hosting. More demanding integrations are evaluated individually. We choose the technology to fit the experience, not to make the invoice look impressive.
The public examples here belong to Sahil's own independent universe; they are not client commissions and are not represented as scientifically validated tools.
